PT. Kenndo Fisheries Indonesia is not a client. It is ours. We incorporated it, licensed it, staffed it, and we carry its payroll every month. Everything we say about operating in Indonesia is something we are currently doing.

We put our own money into the businesses we build, on our own account. That is a deliberate constraint: it limits how many ventures we can take on, and it guarantees that our exposure moves with yours.

We opened our Myanmar office in September 2018 and our Indonesia office two months later. Our Indonesia manager was first posted to the country in 1999. Emerging-market partnerships are not won by the firm that arrives first; they are won by the one still there in year seven.

We are a Japanese company, incorporated in Tokyo, that has delivered commissioned work for Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, JICA, JETRO, SMRJ and ALIC. For a Japanese corporate partner, that is the difference between a conversation and a contract.
ORIGINS
KENNDO did not start as a Japanese company looking outward. It started in the international development sector: our founder established the Japan operation of Devex, a US-based international development company, in 2006, and incorporated the business as an independent Japanese company in 2015.
We have been working across borders since day one. That is simply the only way we know how to work.
